You likely already know that Bloodborne is celebrated as one of the top-tier Souls games out there. Its gritty visual style and terrifying enemies, which feel straight out of an H.P. Lovecraft tale, have endeared it to fans. However, what’s less appreciated is the lack of an option to play it smoothly with a decent frame rate.
Interestingly, even Ben Starr, known for his role as Clive Rosfield in Final Fantasy 16, has joined the chorus of voices advocating for a refreshed version of the 2015 PlayStation 4 exclusive. During the Golden Joystick Awards, Starr shared his thoughts, expressing disbelief at the absence of an official Bloodborne version running at 60 frames per second. This was highlighted by GermanStrands on Twitter, where Starr’s comment struck a chord with many.
Despite these calls, it remains doubtful whether this will spur Sony into action. For years, fans have been appealing to both Sony and FromSoftware, but without Sony’s approval, FromSoftware can’t proceed with a new version. The demand is clear, but, for now, it seems that this highly requested update remains out of reach.
