Overall, I’ve had a pretty smooth experience with Dragon Age: The Veilguard, encountering few bugs since its launch. It’s been impressively polished. However, as the saying goes, “pobody’s nerfect,” and the latest patch addresses a couple of issues that were particularly bugging me.
First off, there’s this great update: “New rings can now be compared against both equipped ring slots.” As someone who’s only about halfway through the game and neck-deep in collecting and equipping items, this is a big relief. Like in many RPGs, Veilguard lets your character deck out with multiple rings, each packed with unique magical bonuses. Earlier, when you got a new ring, you could only compare it to one of your already equipped rings at a time—not both. Super annoying, right? Well, that’s history now.
Moving on to the second delightful fix: “Fixed some instances where unintended music or sound effects would play.” This seems to tackle the most notable glitch I encountered during my Veilguard adventure. It happened just once but was memorable nonetheless. The epic battle music decided to keep playing long after my foes had fallen. Imagine strolling around town with that intense soundtrack blaring for a good 20 minutes! Eventually, I made my way back to the Lighthouse, and thankfully, it stopped. I was relieved not to resort to muting the entire soundtrack, especially since it’s beautifully crafted by none other than Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe.
The comprehensive patch notes cover a wide array of fixes, including issues I personally haven’t faced. Some standouts include “Rook’s body shape no longer changes unexpectedly after a cutscene with Emmrich” and “Adjusted an odd facial expression when Rook first meets Emmrich.” These quirks sound amusing—I must admit, part of me wishes I had witnessed them first-hand. It’s definitely worth skimming through the complete list, which I’ve shared below, to check if any of your specific annoyances got addressed. I’m pleased mine did.
