This week on the podcast, we dig into the intriguing world of Death Wish 4 (00:00:26). While this was intended to be just a quick introduction, as always, RFN marches to its own drumbeat.
After a good chunk of time spent ensuring our listeners can recognize our voices and keep tabs on whether Jon’s with us (he’s often not), we launch into NEW BUSINESS! Greg kicks things off with a brief update on Mario & Luigi: Brothership, then navigates us through the new NSO addition: Donkey Kong Land (00:13:38). James returns to his thoughtful behaviors with the newly-released KUUKYOMI 4: Consider It (00:31:04). Although these games might feel quite similar, they continue to offer that stupidly fun allure. Guillaume wraps up with his final thoughts on Trials of Mana (00:39:54), which impressively holds up as a great game, and by the way, it’s part of the Nintendo Black Friday sale. His take on the Amazon series, Like a Dragon: Yakuza, is far less enthusiastic (00:45:43). Meanwhile, Jon has indulged once more, buying Skyrim yet again (01:05:01). This time it’s on PS5, and yes, he’s actually playing it. Together with James, they share strategies on purchasing eShop and Xbox Live vouchers—it’s nearly game time for these two.
After a well-deserved break, we tackle the exciting task of listing eight Nintendo DS games, two from each of us, to find our ideal pick for The Nintendo DS 20th Anniversary Retroactive (01:15:27). Want to know which game we settled on? You’ll have to tune in to discover.
Keep feeding the gaming beast!
By the way, a special thanks to Guillaume Veillette for editing this episode. The catchy “Men of Leisure” theme song was crafted for Radio Free Nintendo by Perry Burkum. Closing this episode, enjoy the tune “More London Streets (Live)” from Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, composed by Tomohito Nishiura and chosen by James. All rights are reserved by LEVEL-5 Inc.
