Last night at the Golden Joystick Awards, Feng Ji, the director of Black Myth: Wukong, hinted at some exciting surprises for fans to look forward to before the year wraps up. While accepting the Ultimate Game of the Year Award, Ji managed to edge out popular contenders like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Helldivers 2.
He didn’t spill too many details, though. His comment, “there might just be some surprises waiting for you later this year,” has sparked some speculation. Many are guessing that this could mean a new Xbox Series X/S port is on the way. However, Ji added an interesting tidbit: “you [players] might have already completed our game,” before dropping the hint about surprises. This suggests that what’s coming could likely be downloadable content (DLC) rather than a new platform release.
Regarding future developments, fans can definitely expect the physical edition of Black Myth: Wukong to hit PS5 shelves on December 12. The game initially launched digitally back in August 2024, and if you haven’t checked it out yet, you can find our comprehensive review for more insights.
