Elden Ring, the acclaimed action RPG, has impressively surpassed 28.6 million copies sold. This impressive sales milestone was shared by Bandai Namco, the game’s publisher, during The Game Awards last week, where they also unveiled a new multiplayer-focused spin-off titled Nightreign. The figure reflects sales up until the close of September.
Previously, in June, the game had already reached a significant 25 million sales. In the months since then, an additional 3.6 million copies have been sold. This surge in sales can be attributed to enticing discounts and the summer release of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
Daniel Ahmad from Niko Partners highlighted on Twitter that Elden Ring’s impressive numbers mean that it has outperformed the entire Dark Souls series in sales. Since its initial release in 2011, the Dark Souls franchise has sold 27 million copies, comparatively fewer than Elden Ring alone.
