Back in July, Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable made its debut in Early Access on Quest, giving players just a taste with a single mission and a few unlockable blades. This initial content was just the start, though, as the developers, UNIVRS, assured fans that more would be rolling out over the next few months. Fast forward to now, and the ‘Complete Edition’ has landed, boasting four full chapters.
When we first took the game for a spin in July, it felt a bit like we were playing a tech demo. Sure, it had a solid chunk of the core gameplay, but it was limited to just one chapter and an infinite wave mode featuring a leaderboard for bragging rights.
With the Complete Edition out, players can dive into chapters three and four, wrap things up with the Epilogue, and face off against the formidable Armored Titan boss.
For the first time, you can also enjoy the entire saga in co-op mode, teaming up with friends to tackle all the chapters together.
UNIVRS has added more excitement by teasing a ‘Thunder Spear Unlock Event’ slated for January, which they’re calling a “global challenge”. Plus, a free update is on the horizon for 2025, as mentioned on the game’s website.
Despite our earlier impression that the game had a “rough” start, it clearly struck a chord with fans. As I write this, Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable is holding strong with a [4.5/5] user rating on the Horizon Store.
For those who jumped on board during Early Access, the second part of the release is available as a free download. Newcomers can grab Part 1 for $8, Part 2 for $12 (note that Part 1 is a must-have), or opt for the bundle deal with both parts for $20. The game is compatible with Quest 2, Quest 3/S, and Quest Pro systems.
