Xbox Game Pass is saying goodbye to six games today, January 15, which might come as a disappointment for those who enjoy its multiplayer offerings. Typically, the Xbox Game Pass collection is trimmed back every two weeks — right in the middle and at the end of each month. The last time this happened was on December 31 when titles like LEGO 2K Drive and McPixel 3 were removed along with four others.
In the next 24 hours, another set of games will join the list of departures. This includes Escape Academy, Those Who Remain, Exoprimal, Insurgency: Sandstorm, Figment: Journey Into the Mind, and Common’hood.
Interestingly, out of the six games leaving, half are multiplayer-focused. Exoprimal and Insurgency: Sandstorm are both known for their online shooting experiences, while Escape Academy features a co-op mode that has been quite popular among its player base and critics. Notably, Escape Academy has had the longest run on Xbox Game Pass, having been added as a day-one launch back in July 2022.
For those who haven’t yet tried these titles, Xbox Game Pass users in the U.S. still have around 18 hours from now to dive into these games before they’re gone. It’s plenty of time to finish games like Figment: Journey Into the Mind or Those Who Remain. And although console players need to act fast for Escape Academy, PC gamers can take a breather since this escape-room puzzler will be free on the Epic Games Store starting tomorrow, January 16.
Looking ahead, more Xbox Game Pass titles are scheduled to exit on January 31. The specific games set for removal have yet to be announced but will be revealed alongside the second wave of game additions for January 2025. Known entries like Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, Eternal Strands, Sniper Elite: Resistance, and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, all debuting day-one on the service over the last 11 days of January, are part of this lineup. Additional news regarding Xbox Game Pass should come out around January 23 during the 2025 Xbox Developer Direct.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate remains a glowing deal within the Xbox ecosystem, offering subscribers access to over 100 game titles with a single purchase. This premium tier continues to provide outstanding value, living up to its reputation as a must-have for any avid gamer.
