In the immersive world of Synth Beasts, you find yourself in the shoes of an unlikely hero—a "Synth," which is an experiment gone rogue. You manage to escape from the confines of a lab on a mysterious island, and as you traverse the surrounding archipelago, encounters with fellow Synths become inevitable. Unlike you, these Synths are not the friendliest, so engaging in battle is necessary. Each victory grants you the opportunity to recruit these Synths as playable characters, opening up a world of unique abilities for both battle and exploration.

Your journey kicks off with the chance to capture and strengthen these Synths through combat. As they participate in battles, they gain experience that helps them level up. Each Synth boasts five levels of progression, with specific bonuses that make them distinctive. However, as they advance, gaining further points becomes more challenging. Thus, it’s crucial to rotate between Synths regularly to harness their full potential and unlock powerful new abilities!

Take "Psitek," for instance. Right from the get-go, it can light torches, and by the time it hits level three, its fire slash ability to destroy projectiles becomes indispensable in certain dungeons. Beyond this, its level-up perks are mainly geared toward boosting combat abilities. This focus might prompt you to switch to another Synth to explore and activate more abilities with fewer experience points needed!

Before long, you’ll find yourself commandeering an old boat once owned by the scientists. This vessel is your ticket to exploring the Genesis Archipelago, a place peppered with smaller islands that conceal hidden bonuses like extra hearts, stat-enhancing items, and currency for trading in shops. But if you’re not one for thorough investigation, jumping straight to the bigger islands to confront the nefarious scientists is a thrilling alternative.

The major islands are home to boss-level Synths, yet some of the optional islands house them too. Capturing all 40-plus Synths is no walk in the park, but the archipelago offers enticing rewards for those driven by discovery.
