With a bit of a slow start to the new year, Xbox Game Pass seems to be picking up speed again. The final stretch of January is shaping up to be quite exciting, especially with the surprise addition of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. Along with that, we’re looking at day-one releases for Eternal Strands, Sniper Elite: Resistance, and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector.
Even though Xbox Game Pass is wrapping up January with a flourish, the line-up for February currently appears sparse. As of now, we only have two titles locked in. Far Cry New Dawn should kick off the month on a strong note, and we’re eagerly anticipating Obsidian’s Avowed to make a splash on February 18. However, more additions would certainly help keep the excitement rolling through February.
One game that continues to capture attention despite not snagging any accolades at The Game Awards is “Thank Goodness You’re Here!” Celebrated for its cheeky humor and clever mix of gameplay and comedy, this quirky title from Yorkshire’s indie studio Coal Supper lets players guide a tiny traveling salesman through a lively Northern English town, full of bizarre characters and wacky tasks. While it’s currently not on Xbox, fans are hoping it lands on Xbox Game Pass soon.
Next up, the iconic Civilization franchise is about to expand with Civilization 7, due out on February 11. Although it’s unlikely to debut on Game Pass right away, releasing Civilization 6 on the service at the start of the month might be a strategic move for Firaxis, especially as a way to introduce new players to its mechanics ahead of the new release. There’s plenty for fans to dig into with Civ 6, even as they gear up for the changes promised in its successor.
Similarly, the historical action-RPG series Kingdom Come will see its sequel, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, launch on February 4. Despite its dedicated fan base, the series remains relatively niche. Adding the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance to Xbox Game Pass could broaden its audience and potentially boost sales for the upcoming release.
And perhaps one of the most requested titles from the community, Elden Ring, has yet to make its way to Game Pass. Even though it already boasts a massive following, including it in the subscription line-up could enhance its reach, particularly as we look toward the next installment, Elden Ring Nightreign, set to launch later this year.
Incorporating these fan-favorites and strategic additions would certainly amp up the excitement and engagement for Xbox Game Pass users throughout February, keeping the momentum from January well into the months ahead.
