The 2025 BAFTA games are heating up! Leading with an impressive 12 nominations, Xbox Game Studios and Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is making waves in the gaming world. However, despite its numerous nods, it surprisingly missed out on Best Game. That particular spot will see fierce competition among Astro Bot, Balatro, Black Myth: Wukong, Helldivers 2, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and Thank Goodness You’re Here!
PlayStation fans have plenty to cheer about too. PlayStation Studios and Team Asobi’s Astro Bot has scored eight nominations, while Game Science’s Black Myth: Wukong is in the race with seven. Astro Bot’s been on a roll, having previously scooped Game of the Year at both the 28th D.I.C.E. Awards and the 2024 Game Awards. It’s clear this game is a crowd favorite!
It’s worth noting that only games released before November 15, 2024, were considered. This means that some titles, like Bethesda Softworks MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, missed out but will surely be in the running next year.
There’s good news for Xbox game enthusiasts too. Diablo 4, World of Warcraft from Blizzard Entertainment, and Rare’s Sea of Thieves have each snagged nominations in the Best Evolving category.
