Yesterday, Bigscreen kicked off pre-orders for its highly anticipated Beyond 2 PC VR headset, which promises enhanced field-of-view and clarity due to its innovative pancake lens design. Remarkably, within just 10 hours of the launch, Beyond 2 had already surpassed the sales of its predecessor by a striking margin.
Through a series of updates on X, Bigscreen shared just how popular Beyond 2 has become among PC VR fans. “In merely the first 25 minutes,” Bigscreen noted, “Beyond 2 sold more units than Beyond 1 did on its entire launch day.” They went on to say, “In the first hour, we’ve doubled the launch day sales of Beyond 1.”
As the hours ticked by, Bigscreen provided even more impressive statistics regarding the sales of Beyond 2 and its eye-tracking version, Beyond 2e. The latest figures were truly jaw-dropping: “Within 10 hours of launch…Beyond 2 has sold more units than Beyond 1 did in its first four months on the market.”
As you read this, Beyond 2 and Beyond 2e shipments are now expected to begin in June 2025, having swiftly sold out the initial batches originally planned for April and May.
What’s driving the buzz around Beyond 2? Of course, you can delve deeper into its specs, but a significant draw is Bigscreen’s streamlined upgrade path. Owners of the original Beyond can snag the new model at a reduced price—$849 for Beyond 2 and $1,049 for Beyond 2e. Plus, it’s backwards-compatible with most Beyond 1 accessories, like the personalized facial interface that Beyond 1 requires.
The Beyond 2 itself is packed with features, including a new pancake lens configuration that offers a broader 116-degree diagonal field of view, an adjustable IPD mechanism, and a lighter design at just 107 grams. The 2e model ups the ante with AI-powered eye-tracking. While it retains the same dual 1-inch 2,560 × 2,560 micro-OLED displays as its predecessor, the new lenses significantly enhance clarity and field of view.
Priced at $1,019 for the Beyond 2 and $1,219 for the Beyond 2e, both are being offered at discounted rates for Beyond 1 owners. Alongside these, Bigscreen also revealed a new halo-style mount and a Lightblocker facial interface, set for a Q3 2025 release.
All these options are now available for purchase on the Bigscreen website, so don’t miss the chance to upgrade your VR experience.
