Rebellion is gearing up for an exciting release next month, marking the debut of Zombie Army’s first venture into the virtual reality realm. Their co-op campaign is set to be unleashed across all major VR platforms.
Scheduled for release on May 22nd, Zombie Army VR will be available for Quest 2, PSVR 2, and SteamVR headsets. This installment invites players into the intense world of zombie mayhem, casting them as one of the Deadhunters. As a member of this elite unit, your mission is to help put an end to the ongoing apocalypse.
In the game, you’ll find yourself battling wave after wave of undead near the ruins of Nuremberg. Your goal? Aid Captain Hermann Wolff, the legendary leader of the Deadhunters, in reuniting with his family and leading the charge to liberate Europe from the clutches of the zombie apocalypse, according to Rebellion.
Zombie Army VR promises an immersive, story-rich experience that you can enjoy alone or with a friend in co-op mode. Players can expect to arm themselves with an authentic array of World War II weapons, including sniper rifles, submachine guns, and pistols, all of which can be dual-wielded and manually operated.
As you progress, you’ll earn XP to bolster your Deadhunter’s capabilities and gather Weapon Upgrade kits to fine-tune the range, accuracy, scope, and capacity of your arsenal. The game throws more than just your run-of-the-mill zombies at you. Expect to face off against familiar franchise adversaries like Armored Giants, Suiciders, and Sniper Zombies. Additionally, fans of Rebellion’s Sniper Elite VR will be thrilled to see the return of the X-ray Kill Cam, delivering those breathtaking, slow-motion shots.
For those eager to embark on this adventure, Zombie Army VR is available for pre-order now. It’s being offered at a 10% discount off its standard $30 price on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and above, the PlayStation Store for PSVR 2, and Steam for PC VR headsets.
