Bungie has just unveiled its upcoming game, Marathon, offering the first real peek at its gameplay. Set to launch on September 23, 2025, for both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, this extraction shooter is generating quite the buzz.
In Marathon, players will dive into the action by selecting their Runner—cybernetic mercenaries, each boasting unique abilities. You can form a team of up to three players to take on hostile AI security forces and compete against other Runner teams. As you navigate through the game, you’ll gather weapons, implants, and gear. The challenge lies in surviving to keep all that loot for future encounters.
Imagine dropping into a zone with your teammates, scavenging everything you can, and trying to escape with your lives. You’ll face numerous threats, from AI security to rival teams, requiring strategic play to overcome. Those looking for an extra thrill can opt to go solo, tackling teams alone and securing all the loot for themselves.
