Collector’s Edition Announced for Content-Rich ARTcade Game

Exciting news for fans of the horror gaming genre: Terrifier: The ARTcade Game is set to receive a physical collector’s edition loaded with exclusive content. However, this coveted edition comes with a catch—it will be available only for the PS5 and Nintendo Switch versions, although the game itself is also slated for release on Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Announced initially in October 2024, Terrifier: The ARTcade Game is currently under development by Spanish studio Relevo and will be brought to market by SelectaVision’s SelectaPlay, based in Barcelona. This game is a 2D pixel art beat-’em-up that taps into the rich Terrifier lore, aiming for a release in 2025, although a specific date hasn’t been pinned down yet.

Intriguingly, the Collector’s Edition promises an exciting assortment of extras. Now available for pre-order on the game’s official website, the bundle is expected to remain a pre-release exclusive, according to SelectaPlay’s history. However, with the exact release date still up in the air, one thing is certain: this special edition will be available only sometime in 2025.

Another point worth considering is platform availability. While initially announced for PS5 and PC, SelectaPlay later confirmed development for Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X/S. Despite this, the newly announced Collector’s Edition will only cater to PS5 and Switch, leaving PC and Xbox fans with digital-only options.

The game itself draws inspiration from the previous slasher films, introducing its own meta-narrative where Art the Clown wreaks havoc on movie sets in his trademark gruesome fashion. The Collector’s Edition doesn’t just boast tangible goodies but also offers exclusive digital content. This includes a Hardcore mode featuring an alternative ending, an Extra gallery, and an unspecified character skin, enriching the overall gaming experience.
