Cyberpunk 2077’s recent update mainly focuses on squashing some pesky bugs, but there’s a little gem tucked away in the patch notes that’s got everyone buzzing.
As we gear up for the launch of Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs on January 30, gamers running Cyberpunk 2077 on older rigs have a chance to test out the new DLSS 4 (or “deep learning super sampling”) features. This includes a more advanced single-frame generation model that boosts performance and cuts down on VRAM use, along with a fresh Transformer model that enhances stability, lighting, and motion detail.
Over on the Nvidia subreddit, as highlighted by The Verge, players are already diving into this tech, sharing screenshots to show off the differences.
For those upgrading to an RTX 50 series GPU later this month, there’s something called Multi Frame Generation awaiting them. According to the patch notes, it “boosts FPS by using AI to generate up to three times per traditionally rendered frame.” Pretty exciting stuff!
On January 6, Nvidia also rolled out an extensive list of titles that will eventually benefit from DLSS 4 technology. Some big names include Diablo IV, God of War Ragnarök, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Marvel Rivals, Microsoft Flight Simulator, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and quite a few others.
