Time is running out for those in the virtual worlds scene eager to showcase their latest and greatest at this year’s OpenSimulator Community Conference. If you’re keen to take the stage, you’ve got until October 29, 2024, to submit your proposal for this significant annual gathering.
Cynthia Calongne, known by many as “Lyr Lobo” in-world and one of the conference co-chairs, shared her enthusiasm: “We’re thrilled to invite everyone for our twelfth celebration of open source virtual worlds. It’s a fantastic opportunity to explore creativity, technology, artistry, and education.”
Scheduled over two days, December 7 and 8, the conference promises to deliver a varied lineup of presentations that delve into creative, educational, technical, and experiential aspects of OpenSimulator and the broader open metaverse.
Calongne expressed her excitement to Hypergrid Business, saying, “We’re keen to hear about your unique content, insights, and achievements.”
Event organizers are particularly eager to see presentations featuring groundbreaking content, noteworthy accomplishments within the OpenSim community, forward-looking visions for open source virtual environments, and innovative uses of OpenSimulator technologies.
Each presentation slot is planned to last 20 minutes. Beyond individual talks, the conference agenda includes community-sponsored tours, an Expo, content giveaways, and opportunities for hypergrid exploration.
Those accepted will be notified by email on October 31, and it’s essential for them to confirm their participation by registering for the conference by November 7.
The festivities kick off on December 6 with music and art events, ushering in the main proceedings scheduled for December 7 and 8.
For those interested in pitching a session, be sure to check out the OSCC’s Call for Proposals page for details on how to submit your idea.
