If you’re aiming to craft some spectacular weapons like the Paladin Lance, or stitch together formidable armor such as Damascus Greaves, you’ll definitely need to get your hands on some firecell stones.
In this Monster Hunter Wilds guide, I’ll walk you through where these elusive stones can be found and the best ways to gather them.
### Locating Firecell Stones in Monster Hunter Wilds
To start your hunt for firecell stones, you’ll have to head to mining outcrops. Though these outcrops can pop up in various spots, your best bet is to explore the Oilwell Basin, as it’s the prime location where firecell stones are likely to appear.
When you pull up your map, keep an eye out for the blue icons that represent these mining outcrops. To refine your search, press right on the D-pad a couple of times, and sift through the filters until you find the mining outcrop category. Use the D-pad to select an outcrop and set it as your waypoint. Off your Seikret goes!
Now, each mining outcrop gifts you with up to three items before it’s tapped out. Fear not, though—they refresh approximately every 15 minutes, allowing for repeated visits. Given their rarity, securing some firecell stones might require hitting multiple outcrops, so prepare for a bit of a grind.
An alternative method? Target the Gravios — damaging their back or legs could also score you some firecell stones, albeit with a moderate success rate.
### Maximizing Outcrop Resource Collections
If you’re looking to boost your haul from mining outcrops, the Geologist skill is your friend. By reaching level 3, this skill nets you one extra item with each interaction.
You can find the Geologist skill in various gears like the Geology Charm talisman, Chainmail armor, and Geology Jewel decorations. But remember, for mining extra goodies, you’ll need the skill at level three. This means piecing together at least three pieces of gear, such as the Chainmail Headgear, Armor, and Gloves.
However, note that the Geologist skill doesn’t let you extract more than three times per outcrop visit. Instead, it ups the item count each time you decide to hit Circle/B, making your gathering runs more lucrative.
Happy hunting, and may your crafting endeavors be successful!
