PS5 players, get ready to celebrate because a fan-favorite exclusive is getting a Black Friday discount! Sony recently rolled out its Black Friday deals for PlayStation, and among the highlights is the sought-after Stellar Blade. Currently, you can snag this game for $49.99 with free shipping, thanks to a 30% price cut available at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target. We saw this price briefly in late October, but it sold out quickly. This time, the offer should last until Black Friday on November 29th.
Stellar Blade, known for being Shift Up’s first non-gacha IP to hit U.S. shores, has been gaining praise for its tough, souls-like combat, stunning visuals, fantastic soundtrack, and its notable character design. In our review, Mitchell Saltzman from IGN noted, “Stellar Blade shines as a beautiful and intricately designed action game, boasting impressive strengths but also some clear flaws. While the story and characters feel lacking and certain RPG aspects are not well-realized—like repetitive sidequests that often send you back to earlier areas with little new to offer—the action more than compensates. The combat system, clearly inspired by Sekiro, is solid, offering a range of terrifying foes to battle and numerous hidden treasures that make exploration rewarding.” IGN gave the game a 7/10, but I’d personally rate it higher—it’s remarkable in my book.
For those who dive into Stellar Blade, you’ll find it technically challenging. I suggest running it in “Performance” mode to keep a smooth 60fps. However, if you plan to get the new PlayStation 5 Pro, releasing on November 7th, you’re in for a treat. You’ll likely enjoy Stellar Blade at its best in “enhanced” 4K mode, still maintaining excellent frame rates. According to an official PlayStation blog, “With PS5 Pro, gamers can experience Stellar Blade at 4K and 50fps or more, with enhanced gameplay smoothness. The PSSR upscale mode improves grain and detail, and the HFR (high frame rate) option is available for fluid gameplay at 80 fps if you have a 120hz display.”
As for Black Friday 2024, mark your calendars for November 29th. Retailers have been unveiling deals all month, leading up to the big day and extending through Cyber Monday. Some outstanding offers are already available on PS5 consoles and controllers, video games across various platforms, AirPods Pro, and much more.
