This week’s update for Helldivers 2 might not be the colossal one some were hoping for, but it certainly ramps up the stakes in the ongoing Galactic War. If you’re tired of that overwhelming purple Meridian death ball ravaging planets, there’s a new mission on the horizon promising a chance to put an end to it.
With three worlds—Moradesh, Angel’s Venture, and recently Ivis—already devoured, players are definitely anxious for a change. While some mourn these losses, others find the repetitive death ball plot a bit tiresome. So, it seems it’s about time we brought this menace to a halt before it reaches Super Earth.
Following their recent triumph on Wezen, divers have a new major mission. The establishment of an Exosuit Support Bay on the Democracy Space Station has also been a boon, reducing exosuit cooldowns by a generous 35%.
According to reports, scientists on Fenrir III are close to initiating the final phase of a plan to stop the notorious Meridian Singularity. However, pushing further into the complex area of Dark Energy manipulation requires vast quantities of a precious material called E-710.
Taking into account its rich E-710 reserves, the perilous Gloom is being targeted for another expedition. A recent announcement outlined that High Command has sanctioned a second mission into the Gloom aiming to advance the technology needed to thwart the Meridian Wormhole. Surplus E-710 might even support trade for the greater good.
To free the planet Nivel 43 and gather vital E-710 for stopping the Meridian threat, divers will face down those pesky “Gloom-specific terminid strains” once more. It’s time to brace for another encounter with those massive and menacing bugs.
On a brighter note, there’s a buzz of excitement about returning to the Gloom. “THERES ANOTHER GLOOM EXPEDITION,” enthused one Reddit user, sparking threads of eager players ready to tackle more terminids. After all, a break from battling automatons and illuminates might just be what folks need to keep things fresh, even if they’re doing it through gritted teeth.
