The retro gaming publisher, Inin Games, has now taken over the publishing rights for Shenmue 3. This move follows their recent collaboration with the game’s developer, YsNet, specifically on another project called Air Twister.
Back in 2019, Shenmue 3 marked a significant comeback as the latest installment in the critically acclaimed Shenmue series, much to the delight of fans who had been eagerly awaiting its release since it was first announced in 2015. Initially, Deep Silver was responsible for getting the game out to the public.
Inin Games expressed their excitement about this new chapter, stating, “We at Inin Games are honored to carry the Shenmue torch forward during such a significant moment in the series’ history.”
They continued, acknowledging the series’ remarkable history by saying, “As we reflect on two decades of innovation and passion, we remain dedicated to preserving and sharing the journey of Ryo Hazuki with both long-time fans and newcomers.”
The company reassured fans that this isn’t the end of Shenmue’s story. “With this transfer, the story of Shenmue is far from over. We have exciting plans to celebrate these anniversaries, ensuring that this beloved series continues to thrive and inspire. Keep an eye out for upcoming announcements as we unveil our vision for the next phase of Shenmue’s legacy.” So, fans can look forward to more exciting Shenmue developments in the future.
