Have you been eagerly waiting for the chance to dive into Dune Awakening? Well, your wait is nearly over! Prepare yourself for an exciting free open beta weekend starting on May 9 and wrapping up on May 12. Even if you’re eager to play, I promise, reading about it a bit more won’t hurt!
To secure your spot in the beta, you’ve got some options. You can either add the game to your wishlist before May 9 for a shot at playing or snag one of the numerous beta codes the team will be releasing over the weekend. So while it’s not completely open, those who make the effort might just find themselves in with a chance. Think of it as the door being slightly cracked open.
Interestingly, this beta release comes just days before the original launch date of May 15, which was postponed. The good folks at Funcom decided to take a little extra time to ensure that everything is just right for the big unveiling.
During the beta, you’ll have the chance to explore the first two regions. This should be enough to keep you engaged for around 20 hours if you dive deep. You can check out a few Research Facilities, get a feel for the early abilities of different classes, and even engage in some PvP at ship crash sites. It’s a perfect little preview of what’s to come. We’ve also shared our thoughts and experience in a fresh preview of Dune Awakening, which covers this segment of the game.
So, are you pumped for this open beta experience? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
