Meta has recently showcased an intriguing lineup featuring the top 50 best-selling paid Quest games ever, now available for discovery in the Quest’s Horizon Store.
Unsurprisingly, Beat Saber takes the crown at the number one spot. Known globally as a landmark in VR gaming, Beat Saber has transcended its virtual boundaries to become a staple of pop culture. Two years ago, its revenue surpassed a staggering $250 million, a figure that includes its downloadable content, or DLCs.
Coming in at the second and third positions are the timeless VR gems Job Simulator and Superhot VR. These fan favorites have been captivating audiences since the early days of VR with tracked controllers back in 2016. They frequently appear on best-seller lists across platforms, including PlayStation VR2 and Steam. Other cherished titles making their way into the top 10 list are The Thrill of the Fight, Onward, and the captivating Vader Immortal Episode 1. Meanwhile, Blade & Sorcery: Nomad takes the fourth spot, offering a standalone version of its popular PC VR counterpart.
Interestingly, Guy Godin’s Virtual Desktop lands at number six. Originally launched to transform your Quest into a wireless PC VR headset, it continues to impress with additional features like spawning virtual monitors—long before Meta’s own Air Link or Valve’s Steam Link arrived on the scene.
Another noteworthy mention is Population: One at number 16. This achievement is remarkable, especially considering it transitioned to a free-to-play model just two years ago, earning all sales from late 2020 to early 2023.
Notably absent from this list are Meta’s revered Quest exclusives, Asgard’s Wrath 2 and Batman: Arkham Shadow. This is likely because Asgard’s Wrath 2 was offered for free with every Quest 3 purchase for the initial eight months post-launch. Similarly, Batman: Arkham Shadow has been included with all Quest 3 and Quest 3S devices since Meta Connect 2024.
The rankings may also be swayed by the introduction of the Quest+ games catalog last year. This offering allows subscribers to enjoy some of the top paid games as long as they maintain their subscription, alongside the monthly redemption of two titles.
While this ranking spans the entire Quest platform, dating back to the original Oculus Quest launch in 2019, it offers a subtle glimpse into the changing demographics of Quest users. For example, Among Us 3D secures the seventh spot, while the relatively new I Am Cat, having entered early access just 11 months ago, finds itself at number 23.
