Xbox has rolled out its new compact mode feature to all PC players, following an initial exclusive release to Xbox Insiders. This update also introduces new management options and a host of additional features.
According to the official announcement on Xbox Wire, the compact mode is now accessible to all PC players. This mode simplifies access to widgets and navigation, offering quicker transitions by allowing players to switch between widgets using the RB and LB buttons on their controllers. Moreover, Xbox has introduced support for a virtual keyboard.
Game Management Options
When it comes to managing your games, there’s a new feature that lets you download and install all your game add-ons at once. You can now see a complete list of add-ons effortlessly. To access this, simply right-click any installed game in your library, select "Manage," and navigate to the newly-added "Add-ons" section.
The Xbox Mobile App
Xbox is also transferring some of the PC app features to the mobile version. Initially, these updates will be exclusive to Xbox members on mobile, with a wider release planned for later. It’s worth noting that new downloads of the Xbox Game Pass app will no longer be supported starting in November.
The standout features of the Xbox mobile app include managing your membership and exploring your game library. Members with the Ultimate Tier of Game Pass can also claim and view perks. Furthermore, users can stream certain games through Xbox Cloud Gaming on their iOS or Android devices using a supported browser.
The app packs even more with features like sharing game clips, screenshots, comparing progress with friends, making video calls during gameplay, and more. You can even initiate game installations on your console from afar.
Xbox Consoles Pre-Download Feature
Another exciting update is that players can jump into games right as updates go live, bypassing the wait for downloads to complete. Moreover, there are now wish list notifications to alert you on your console whenever a game on your wish list becomes available.
