Microsoft is shaking things up in the console world with the release of its latest lineup, including the Xbox Series X 1TB Digital Edition, the Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition, and a new Xbox Series S 1TB version. It’s an exciting time for gamers eager to explore what these new devices have to offer.
Pricing
When it comes to price tags, the Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition stands at $599.99. If you’re eyeing the Xbox Series X 1TB Digital Edition in its sleek white design, that’ll be $449.99. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S 1TB, also in white, is priced at $349.99. Unfortunately for gamers in India, none of these consoles have hit the shelves there just yet.
Technical Changes
YouTuber Austin Evans has delved into the technical aspects of these consoles, noting some significant updates. One notable change in the new Xbox Series Digital Edition is its advanced heatsink system. Plus, they’ve overhauled the motherboard, and the shield over the SSD is no more—offering a cleaner, more efficient design.
Evans also highlights the inclusion of a smaller 6nm SoC in the new Series X models. He conducted tests comparing idle power consumption: the original Series X idles at 61 watts, while the special 2TB Galaxy Black edition uses 51 watts, and the Digital Edition drops down to just 38 watts. Even while pushing performance with Forza Horizon 5, the comparisons are intriguing. The original pulls 167 watts, the Digital Edition uses 156 watts, and the 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition is the most efficient at 151 watts.
Adding to the excitement, Xbox has unveiled the latter half of its game lineup for October. Highlights include titles like MechWarrior 5: Clans, COD Black Ops 6, Dead Island 2, and Ashen. There’s a lot to look forward to as the gaming calendar continues to unfold.
