Minisforum recently made waves at "Japan IT Spring Week" by unveiling its exciting new lineup, all powered by AMD’s Ryzen processors. They’re bringing two innovative options to the table: a MoTD board and a Mini PC, both featuring the cutting-edge Ryzen 9 9955HX "Fire Range" CPU.
Exciting New Offerings with AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX "Fire Range"
During the tech event, Minisforum proudly presented its latest advancements incorporating AMD Ryzen technology. Among the highlights are MoTD (Mobile on Desktop) motherboards, along with Mini PCs and NAS systems, all designed to cater to various user needs.
The F1FGM MoTD Motherboard: A Desktop Builder’s Dream
The first in the lineup is the "F1FGM" motherboard, expanding on the MoTD series with a robust mATX design. This board picks up where the BD770i and BD790i left off, now integrating the latest Fire Range "Ryzen 9000HX" series CPUs. Notably, it can support up to the Ryzen 9 9955HX CPU boasting 16 cores and 32 threads, equipped to push clock speeds up to 5.4 GHz with a hefty 64 MB L3 cache. Although it starts at 55W, this powerhouse can be dialed up to 160W on this motherboard, ensuring an exceptional performance experience.
The board offers flexibility, supporting various CPUs, including an "X3D" variant, and is cooled by a vapor chamber baseplate since these mobile CPUs forego the traditional IHS. It utilizes a 13-Phase Duet rail VRM design featuring 60A SPS power stages. For memory, the board accommodates up to 256 GB DDR5 across four DIMM slots, capable of speeds up to 8000 MT/s. Topping it off, the X870M mobile-grade chipset is close to the B850 series in capability. Connectivity options are abundant with two PCIe slots (5.0 x16 & 4.0 x16), multiple M.2 slots, USB4, 5GbE LAN, and WIFI7.
MS-A2 Mini PC: Compact Yet Powerful
On the other hand, the MS-A2 Mini PC is set to follow the footsteps of the MS-A1 series, now sporting Ryzen 9000HX "Fire Range" CPUs. It continues the tradition of offering superior IO capabilities, supported by three M.2 slots, 10 GbE LAN via SFP+ port, and a PCIe 4.0 x8 slot for low-profile cards. Unlike the MoTD motherboard, this Mini PC is equipped with two SO-DIMM slots allowing up to 96 GB capacity with speeds hitting 5200 MT/s. The connectivity suite encompasses USB Type-C, USB 3.2 Gen 2, USB 2.0, dual 10 GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.0, and both DP and HDMI video outputs.
N5 PRO NAS: Strix Power at Your Fingertips
Lastly, Minisforum introduces the Strix-powered "N5 PRO" NAS featuring the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU. This NAS system includes 12 cores, 24 threads, and the Radeon 890M iGPU, alongside five 3.5-inch bays that support RAID configurations in a toolless design for easy drive management. It can be loaded with up to 48 GB of DDR5 SO-DIMMs and features a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot for additional video solutions. Each bay supports up to 22 TB of HDD, complemented by three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots for extra storage options. Network interface needs are covered with 10 GbE and 5 GbE ports, alongside three USB 3.2 Gen1 ports for further connectivity.
As Minisforum gears up for launch, these promising products are sure to capture the attention of tech enthusiasts. Keep an eye out for more details on their availability in the coming months.
