Social Discovery Group, the powerhouse behind platforms like Dating.com and DateMyAge.com, has unveiled its new venture studio, aiming to set a fresh standard for virtual intimacy by supporting startups focused on AI-driven communication, XR technology, and social discovery innovations.
Introducing SDG Lab, this initiative has promised to channel $20 million each year into promising ventures. With an easy-to-navigate funding process in place, entrepreneurs can access seed money for their product ideas and additional resources to boost growth.
Among SDG Lab’s standout investments are ‘VR Chat&Date’, a virtual dating platform, along with niche dating apps such as Kiseki, Flure, and AstroLove.
The lab is spearheaded by Alex Kudos, former CMO at Social Discovery Group. Beyond just financial support, SDG Lab offers budding companies in the social technology realm essential resources like legal aid, back-office support, technical infrastructure, and marketing strategies.
Reflecting on this ambitious endeavor, Alex Kudos, now the CEO of SDG Lab, remarked, “The landscape of social interaction is shifting, with digital intimacy at the forefront. At SDG Lab, we go beyond mere funding—we’re actively shaping the future of how humans connect. Our mission is to back and collaborate with daring entrepreneurs to develop technologies that enable genuine relationships across the globe.”
Kudos further emphasized, “Virtual connections and AI-driven relationships are no longer just ideas from science fiction—these are integral to our digital reality. With SDG Lab, we’re paving the way for the next wave of products that redefine the way people meet, interact, and forge relationships in the virtual world.”
