Capcom is gearing up for the return of the Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta, and it’s happening just in time for its launch in February. Officially dubbed "Open Beta Test 2," this upcoming phase not only brings back all the features from the initial test but also throws in some fresh extras to entice seasoned hunters to dive back in.
Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 kicks off February 6
Due to overwhelming demand, Monster Hunter Wilds is offering Open Beta 2 in two separate periods. The first kicks off on February 6 at 7 P.M. PT and runs until February 9 at 6:59 P.M. Following shortly is the second session, spanning from February 13 at 7 P.M. PT to February 16 at 6:59 P.M. Gamers will be thrilled to know that crossplay is enabled for these tests, meaning PS5 users can team up seamlessly with friends on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
In this phase, players will revisit all the beloved features from the first beta, such as the character creator, story trial, and the epic Doshaguma Hunt. But that’s not all—the formidable Gypceros makes its comeback in the Gypceros Hunt. While we know new content is on the way, specifics will be unveiled a bit later.
As an incentive, participants of Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 will snag a few treats to carry over to the full game. Exclusive rewards like the Open Beta Test Bonus Pendant and the OBT 2 Bonus Item Pack await those who dive into the game early. Just a heads-up: if you already got the pendant from the first beta, you won’t get a duplicate, but enjoying both beta tests ensures you’ll earn a pair of Bonus Item Packs.
Mark your calendars, as Monster Hunter Wilds drops for PS5 on February 28, 2025, priced at $69.99. For those looking to enhance their experience, there’s a Deluxe Edition for $89.99 and a Premium Deluxe Edition for $109.99 available on the PlayStation Store. Each version offers enticing preorder bonuses, including the Hunter Layered Armor Set: Guild Knight and the Talisman: Hope Charm.
