The OpenSim Worlds Fair is gearing up for a grand opening on March 1, 2025. This exciting event is a celebration of innovation, creativity, art, technology, fashion, and education within the OpenSim community, bringing all these elements together in a vibrant virtual showcase.
After a year in the making, this fair aims to unite the OpenSim community, offering a platform for individuals to display their talents and achievements. Organized by veterans with nearly two decades of experience in immersive virtual spaces—Cooper Swizzle, Koshari Mahana, Kimm Starr, and entertainment coordinator Rosa Alekseev—this event promises to elevate the hypergrid experience. Their passion for fostering creativity ensures an unforgettable fair that highlights the best the virtual world has to offer.
The event will take place on the Wolf Territories grid, owned by Lone Wolf. It is designed to gather people from various backgrounds and interests within the virtual realm. Expect a diverse lineup of entertainment with at least 17 themed stages showcasing genres like rock and roll, Motown, Latin, and retro. These stages bring together performers and DJs, offering attendees a chance to engage, celebrate, and enjoy the vibrant musical landscape. Rosa Alekseev’s exceptional dedication has been instrumental in organizing the entertainment lineup.
There’s still room for exhibitors eager to show off their work and creativity. While the full region-sized parcels are already taken, a few smaller parcels remain available for those looking to participate. For those keen on sharing their vision, a number of free exhibition spaces are still open. This event is an excellent opportunity to be part of a celebration that encourages progress and cultural exchange across the hypergrid.
Last October 23, 2024, Thirza Ember’s Hypergrid Safari tour visited the Worlds Fair, generating excitement and anticipation. Participants were treated to an exclusive sneak peek of the fairgrounds, exploring various exhibits and immersive installations.
The attendees shared their impressions: James Atlloud remarked on the amazing setup and the grid’s stability, Forest Azure noted the quality resembling Second Life, and Lavia LLavine expressed eagerness for March. On Facebook, Star Ravenhurst highlighted the thrilling potential of the event, even as some builds were still in progress, urging everyone to mark their calendars for a must-see spectacle filled with fun and innovation.
