If you thought the Silent Hill 2 remake was only hiding one secret message, think again. Fans have dug up more, and they’re just as intriguing.
The Silent Hill series has lingered in the hearts of its fans for years, largely because of its treasure trove of secrets. Packed with bizarre and often eerie surprises, these games have kept players on their toes, and the recent Silent Hill 2 remake carries on that tradition. Players quickly unearthed a hidden message that even the developers believed might be too cryptic to crack. This message fueled a long-standing theory that our protagonist, James Sunderland, is caught in a time loop. And now, it appears there are even more messages linking back to this captivating theory.
A YouTuber who goes by the name Shiba uploaded a video showcasing the first discovery. “There’s a message playing on the TV in Brookhaven Hospital,” Shiba explains, “broadcasted in Morse code. The static from the TV almost drowns it out, making it tough to catch. But if you listen closely, you’ll hear a clicking sound that’s reminiscent of a telegraph. The loud clicks denote the start of a signal, while softer ones signal its conclusion. After decoding the Morse code, you get the message: ‘Again and.’ This endless looping signal seems to hint yet again at the time loop theory.”
Over at the Woodside Apartments section, there’s another TV whispering a mysterious message in Morse code. This time, it spells out, “why did you do it James?” I won’t spoil what this means for those unfamiliar with the original or the remake, but if you know, you know. There are surely more mysteries waiting to be uncovered, so keep your detective hats on, Silent Hill enthusiasts.
Happy hunting to all you sharp-eyed players out there.
