OneXPlayer has officially released the X1 Pro, sporting a versatile 3-in-1 design that takes advantage of AMD’s Strix Point APUs. Building on the foundation set by devices like the F1 Pro and the Ayaneo 3, the X1 Pro is among the first handhelds to incorporate AMD’s Zen 5 Strix Point APUs. It stands as a formidable rival to GPD’s upcoming Pocket 4 mini-laptops.
The unique appeal of the OneXPlayer X1 Pro lies in its multi-functional capabilities, allowing it to transform seamlessly into a laptop, a tablet, or a handheld device. Mirroring the capabilities of the Pocket 4, it’s equipped with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. This powerhouse includes 12 cores, divided into a configuration of four Zen 5 and eight Zen5c cores in a dual-CCX layout, along with a hefty 12MB of L2 cache and 24MB of L3 cache. Its boost clock reaches up to 5.1 GHz. On the graphics front, the device features a Radeon 890M iGPU with 16 compute units, and thanks to AMD’s XDNA 2 technology, the NPU on the HX 370 can deliver an impressive 50 TOPS of AI computing power.
When it comes to visuals, the X1 Pro boasts a stunning 10.95-inch LTPS display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a sharp 2560×1600 (or 2.5K) resolution. The screen is vibrant, covering 138% of the sRGB color gamut, and it shines brightly at 540 nits. Storage-wise, users have options ranging from 1TB to a massive 4TB, with read speeds reaching up to 7.1 GB/s and write speeds of 6.5 GB/s, thanks to the 2280 form factor. Additionally, for those needing extra storage, there’s a handy MicroSD card slot.
The X1 Pro is powered by a 65.02Wh battery, offering up to eight hours of usage on paper, although actual performance might vary. At a 28W power draw, users can expect around two hours of operation. Included with the device is a 100W Gallium Nitride charger, ensuring you can quickly top up when needed. In terms of connectivity, the device supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, ensuring you’re always connected.
Gaming enthusiasts will appreciate the hall-effect RGB joysticks, designed to prevent drift. The device’s I/O options are robust, featuring two USB 4.0 ports, an OCuLink interface, a MicroSD card slot, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
For those interested in getting their hands on the X1 Pro early, pre-orders are now live, offering a chance to secure the device at a special presale price. Shipping is slated to begin on January 3rd, and OneXPlayer is gearing up to showcase the X1 Pro alongside other upcoming devices at CES 2025 next month.
