Mighty Coconut has just unveiled an exciting new offering for fans of Walkabout Mini Golf (2020). Get ready to take your putting skills to the legendary heights of Mount Olympus, the mythical home of the gods.
This fresh addition, now available as a paid DLC, brings two distinct 18-hole courses for you to explore: one designed for a leisurely challenge and the other for those seeking a more formidable test. These courses are cleverly woven around exquisite classical Greek temples, offering a unique setting for your mini-golf adventures. As with previous updates, you can unlock a new putter, embark on a quest for themed Lost Balls, and enjoy a variety of themed cosmetics to give your game a distinct touch.
And it’s not just about donning a toga—or, more precisely, a chiton—and rocking some ancient Greek hairstyles. Emma Mercado, the talented Senior 3D Artist at Mighty Coconut, shared that the team embraced a more traditional vision when crafting these divine realms. Each temple showcases a major god, enriched with elements that bring their legendary stories to life.
In a discussion with Meta, Mercado revealed that the creative team constructed props inspired by mythological tales. You’ll encounter nods to the infamous romance between Ares and Aphrodite, along with the wrath of the jilted Hephaestus. Plus, there’s the curious tale of Alectryon, transformed into a rooster for failing as Ares’ sentinel, and Arachne’s eternal presence at Athena’s loom after besting the goddess in a weaving contest. Additionally, you’ll witness Demeter’s sorrow at losing her daughter Persephone to Hades, depicted through the fluctuating seasons at her temple.
This Mount Olympus DLC marks a milestone as Walkabout Mini Golf’s tallest, largest, and most intricate course yet. It’s available across all the platforms where the game is supported, ensuring everyone can join the divine fun.
For just $4, you can dive into this epic course today. It’s readily available for purchase on the Horizon Store for Quest users, the PlayStation Store for PSVR 2 players, Steam for those on PC VR headsets, the Pico Store for Pico headsets, and even the App Store for those enjoying the Pocket Edition on iOS devices.
