Dave Baszucki, the CEO of Roblox, has a straightforward piece of advice for parents worried about potential risks on the platform: if you’re uneasy, it might be best to keep your kids away. During an interview with the BBC, Baszucki, who also co-founded the service, emphasized his stance that even a single negative incident on Roblox is one too many.
“If you’re not comfortable, don’t let your kids be on Roblox,” Baszucki urged, acknowledging that this approach might seem contrary to a company’s usual aim to gain more users but stressing the importance of parental judgment.
When questioned about reports of negative experiences and misbehavior by some users, Baszucki explained, “Within the company, our viewpoint is that any bad incident is one too many. We actively monitor for bullying and harassment, applying filters and, if needed, even involving law enforcement,” he assured.
These comments arise amidst ongoing concerns regarding malicious users on Roblox. In response, the company has been taking substantial steps to enhance its child safety measures, aiming to address and mitigate these worries effectively.
