Skydance’s latest VR adventure, Behemoth, is gearing up to make its grand entrance, and it seems the heat is cranking up beyond what fans might have predicted. Skydance Games shared with Road to VR that they are already planning some post-launch updates for the game’s first week on both Quest and PSVR 2.
A spokesperson from Skydance Games explained that they faced a “cascading hardware failure,” which stalled the testing and certification process for Behemoth across all platforms. Despite this hiccup, fans will be relieved to hear that the release date remains unchanged. The team has bounced back, although they’ve made it clear there will be patches rolling out for PSVR 2 and Quest right in the first week.
They’re planning a “day-one patch for PlayStation and a day-seven patch for Meta Quest headsets,” although specifics about what these patches entail haven’t been revealed yet.
As for the PC VR version, it’s still a bit of a mystery. The Steam product page continues to show “to be announced” for its release date, so PC players will need to stay tuned.
Originally set for a November 14th launch, Skydance Games decided in September to push Behemoth’s release to December 5th. This extra time is intended to allow the team to fine-tune this action-adventure VR experience, which many in the community are eagerly anticipating as one of the year’s standout releases.
The game is dropping on Quest 2/3/Pro, PSVR 2, and PC VR and promises to deliver a 12-hour campaign. Players can expect a mix of exploration, combat, and puzzles, all wrapped up in the immersive VR-native style that Skydance perfected with their hit, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners.
