Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games have just announced when Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles will land on the Nintendo Switch. Mark your calendars because this remaster of the classic game, which first hit the shelves for PlayStation and Dreamcast back in 2000, is set during the exciting moments of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
In this updated version, you’ll have the chance to channel the Force as one of your favorite characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, or even Darth Maul. Your mission? Reclaim Theed Palace and battle your way through hordes of enemies, including battle droids, destroyer droids, and assassins, all while wielding your iconic lightsaber.
The developers have packed the game with a host of engaging features:
– Dive into the side-scrolling arcade action set in the Star Wars universe. Initially choose to play as Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Plo Koon, Adi Gallia, or Qui-Gon Jinn. Plus, characters previously unavailable from the outset, like Darth Maul, Captain Panaka, Queen Amidala, Ki-Adi Mundi, and even a Battle Droid, can now be selected right from the get-go.
– Team up with a friend for some classic couch co-op fun, letting you and a buddy tackle the entire 10-level campaign and bonus mini-games together.
– Experience both old and new: select classic or modern control setups, customize your lightsaber colors, and enjoy fresh playable characters including the Tusken Raider. For a nostalgic twist, enter cheat codes like Big Head Mode to unlock even more surprises celebrating the game’s 25th anniversary.
Get ready to play Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles, as it’s set for a digital release on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch worldwide on January 23, 2025.
