Tango Gameworks, the innovative Japanese studio, has hinted at the possibility of developing a sequel to their 2023 hit, Hi-Fi Rush. In a conversation with IGN, studio head Colin Mack revealed that while the idea of a sequel is on the table, there’s no definitive plan in place just yet.
“We’re viewing the option of a sequel in a positive light,” Mack shared with IGN. “However, we’re not at a point where we can decisively say, ‘This is our next move.’”
Adding to the discussion, Hi-Fi Rush director John Johanas expressed the team’s enthusiasm. “Our team holds a deep affection for Hi-Fi Rush, which leaves us open to different paths. Right now, we’re exploring the potential opportunities,” he explained.
Project manager Kazuaki Egashira chimed in, emphasizing Tango Gameworks’ dedication to innovation. “Hi-Fi Rush gained popularity as a fresh IP, but if we let it stay unchanged, it could lose its appeal over time,” Egashira noted.
“Tango Gameworks thrives on embracing new challenges,” Egashira continued. “I am keen to carry on with a developer-centric approach, ensuring we maintain our passion and creativity.”
