Nearly two decades have slipped by since Titan Quest first adorned our computer screens, entering the gaming world with a splash as a robust, Greek mythology-laden action RPG that gave Diablo a run for its money. The anticipation for its sequel has been brewing for years, and now, amidst a crowded field of ARPGs, Titan Quest 2 is finally nearing its early access debut. Developer Grimlore Games is on the hunt for "thousands" of gamers to test out the forthcoming adventure and share their insights.
Setting itself apart with a promise of no loot boxes and no live service gimmicks, Titan Quest 2 has gamers buzzing with excitement. Especially enticing is the introduction of an extra Rogue class available right from day one of early access. From my glimpses of the gameplay, it looks poised to match the likes of Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2 in a vibrant and demanding way. When Ken got hands-on with an early build at Gamescom last year, he walked away brimming with optimism about its potential.
If you’re eager to experience firsthand how this RPG stands up to the competition, the "exclusive closed playtest" is your golden ticket. Sign-ups have just opened for both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Grimlore enthuses, “Request access to be among the chosen warriors who will gear up, raise their weapons, and combat the forces of chaos,” promising "epic combat, heroic feats, and a glimpse of what’s ahead as Early Access rolls out!”
Despite being a closed test, Grimlore is casting a wide net, seeking "thousands of brave warriors" to join, meaning your chances of getting in seem pretty good.
As for when the early access begins, an official date hasn’t been penciled in yet. However, the announcement of these playtests adds a hint of urgency, indicating it may be just around the corner. We’ll keep you posted as soon as the date drops.
