At the Golden Joystick Awards last night, Ben Starr, the renowned voice actor famed for his role in Final Fantasy XVI, took a moment to criticize Sony. The company, he pointed out, still hasn’t delivered a 60 FPS patch for Bloodborne, much to the dissatisfaction of its dedicated player base.
Addressing the audience, Starr remarked, "It’s absolutely criminal that we don’t have an official version of Bloodborne running at 60 frames per second," a statement that definitely struck a chord with the crowd, as there were audible reactions in the room.
What’s interesting is Starr’s use of the term "official version." While Sony hasn’t yet produced a patch themselves, we’ve already seen the game operating at 60 FPS. You might recall that last year, Lance McDonald shared a video on YouTube showcasing Bloodborne running at 60 FPS in 1080p resolution, without any upscaling or interpolation tricks.
On a related note, there are plenty of upcoming PS5 titles to look forward to in 2024, ensuring that gamers have a lot to be excited about in the near future.
Since its launch on the PS4 back in early 2015, Bloodborne has still not been able to achieve that coveted 60 FPS on Sony’s more recent consoles. Fans have been vocal in their demands for an official patch over the years, yet Sony has remained tight-lipped about the affair. Why the company hesitates to address this issue remains a mystery.
