Winking Studios, a major player in Asia’s triple-A outsourcing sector, has successfully taken over the Chinese company Mineloader.
This acquisition is valued at a substantial £16.3 million, approximately $19.87 million. An immediate payment of $14.7 million is part of the deal, with the balance set to be paid out over the next five years, contingent on Mineloader meeting certain performance benchmarks in Shanghai.
Having been established in 2003, Mineloader is recognized for its expertise in art outsourcing.
“This is our most significant acquisition yet,” shared Johnny Jan, the CEO and founder of Winking Studios. “It represents a critical stride in enhancing our status within the global video games industry. This move opens up new possibilities for growth and innovation.”
Jan went on to emphasize the importance of game art in creating video games, describing it as the visual cornerstone that captivates players and shapes their experience. “Mineloader, known for its reliable history and specialization in game art production, will become an invaluable part of our team. With over 460 employees joining our current workforce of more than 800, our services in this area will greatly expand, attracting new clients. Moreover, Mineloader’s established footing in the Japanese market is a significant asset to our business network,” he added.
